We are entering a season where things are beginning to happen that we have prayed for a long time. I have noticed that God often answers prayers in such a natural way that sometimes we forget that we prayed for that to happen. There are family members turning to the Lord that have been objects of intense prayer. Sometimes the turn is so gradual that we forget just how miraculous this really is. I’ve noticed the growth and passion for Christ in our youth. How long have we prayed for that? We have 50 young people gathering each week to worship, pray and fellowship together and it has happened right before our eyes. Look at the racial diversity we are enjoying now. Remember the fasting and prayer that went into pulling down the racial divide. Progress seemed so slow that we have almost taken this “answer” of prayer for granted. God is adding people of color to our family like never before!
I wonder just what God is doing in your life that you have failed to recognize as an answer to long standing prayers. Now is the time to stop and take account of the things that God is doing all around us and in us. It is time to thank the Lord and rejoice. Yes, times are hard but right in the middle of our difficulty God is doing things we have desired for years. Praise the Lord! “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!”
